Rob and Judy owned a 2300acre (950hectre) farm on Flinders Island, Tasmania.
They produced through 35 years of selective breeding fine merino sheep 17-19micron .
They purchased the farm in 1976, and extra land 1988 from there they ran up to 10,000 soft wool merinos. With all these sheep an odd coloured sheep came through the flock and was the start of the fibre business eg. Knitting, weaving, spinning, felting and also value adding to our tourism accommodation business on the farm.
They sold the farm November 2007 and taking Judy’s wool business moved to Howlong NSW on the Murray River. Rob and Judy purchased - The Old Post Office Bed and Breakfast at Howlong in September 2008. |
